In this exclusive chat, Tony Nasr, General Manager, Emerging Markets for the company, tells us about those, and why it’s been an an “incredibly energising and rewarding first year” for Nasr in the business…

What can visitors to your intersec stand expect to see?

“In addition to our security products, we have our Fire Detection and Controls division there too.”

How are you finding the current market in the Middle East?

TN: “It’s been an incredibly energising and rewarding first year. Joining Johnson Controls at such a pivotal moment for the Middle East & Africa has been a privilege. I’m fortunate to lead a passionate and talented regional team whose deep understanding of local challenges and customer needs continues to impress me. Their expertise and dedication are central to our success in delivering tailored, high-impact solutions.

“We’re making significant investments to support our customers and partners. A standout initiative is our newly refurbished training centre, which provides free, hands-on learning for consultants and integrators. It’s a key part of our broader commitment to building long-term partnerships and empowering the ecosystem with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive.”

What do you feel you are offering that sets you aside from your competitors?

What do you think will be the main drivers for business next year?

JN: “Our technologies support a wide range of verticals, but we see particularly strong momentum in aviation, government, hospitality, and data centres. Our global experience in complex environments—especially airports—positions us uniquely to deliver integrated, scalable solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and operational continuity.

“Airports are among the most demanding environments for security and building management. Our work with major international hubs has given us deep insight into their needs. From access control and surveillance to fire safety and energy-efficient systems, we offer end-to-end solutions that help operators meet regulatory requirements and enhance passenger experience.

“In government and data centre projects, our ability to navigate national standards and protocols is a key strength. For example, our American Dynamics video surveillance range has achieved SIRA accreditation—an important milestone that confirms our technology is trusted in high-security, mission-critical applications.

“Across all sectors, our focus remains on delivering integrated solutions that simplify operations, improve safety, and support long-term growth.”

Are there and special considerations or additional support that you offer your clients across the Middle East?
