With the physical security sector now being a mature industry, far-sighted companies such as AMAG Technology UK (stand S1 B16) are acknowledging the need to reinvent themselves. They company has a Darwinian intelligence that prompts it to adapt to market conditions and end-user demands in order to thrive.

AMAG develops scalable solutions with easy upgrade paths across access control, video management, identity management, visitor management and command & control.

SoS spoke to James Clark who is the company’s director of sales for EMEA & APAC. Clark stressed how AMAG clients are able to manage multiple systems from a single intuitive interface so freeing them up to focus on the core activity of their site and reducing risk for all parties as well as producing efficiencies.

Clients at transport hub sites such as airports need scalable solutions with easy upgrade paths as new terminals are added. Clark notes that new airport builds are a significant area for the Middle East region. Command & control platforms at such mission-critical environments need to be best of breed.

Robust access control is at a premium in transport infrastructure and integrators demand a wide range of credential mechanisms by which staff can present themselves to readers. This can include many forms of biometrics.

The company’s route to market remains the same; relationships with Value Added Resellers (VARs) and integrators are crucial but AMAG recognises that the sector is in flux as physical and cyber security continue to converge.
