ANSecurity strengthens cyber resilience for leading UK racing & leisure organisation

ANSecurity

ANSecurity has successfully delivered a long-term cyber resilience programme for a leading UK organisation operating in the racing and leisure sector.

This will help to protect complex digital infrastructure while supporting uninterrupted operations across its heritage venues. The organisation operates award-winning racecourse venues alongside a hotel, bars and event facilities, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors annually.

With an IT estate spanning ticketing systems, CCTV, gaming networks, radio communications, public Wi-Fi, and back-office platforms, the business recognised the need for a strategic and sustainable approach to cybersecurity that could evolve alongside its operations.

A Growing Need for Strategic Cybersecurity

Following a comprehensive security review, the organisation identified structural vulnerabilities across network architecture, authentication services, cyber awareness and the effective use of existing security technologies.

As board-level scrutiny around cyber risk increased, the organisation sought a trusted partner that could provide not only technical solutions, but also strategic direction and long-term guidance.

ANSecurity was selected for its consultative, partnership-driven approach and its ability to work in alignment with the organisation’s seasonal operating calendar, ensuring security improvements could be delivered without disrupting core business activity.

A Partnership Model, Not a Supplier Relationship

Rather than operating as a traditional vendor, ANSecurity embedded itself within the client’s IT function, acting as a strategic “co-driver” in the organisation’s cybersecurity journey.

The engagement focused on advisory services, strategic enablement and hands-on collaboration, enabling the organisation to build internal capability while implementing a long-term security roadmap aligned to business priorities.

This embedded approach ensured that progress was sustainable, operationally realistic and fully integrated into the organisation’s wider digital strategy.

Building Measurable Cyber Resilience

Through the partnership, ANSecurity supported the introduction of stronger authentication and security key technologies, the redesign of network architecture with robust segmentation and traffic controls, and the ongoing testing of detection and response capabilities through structured threat emulation exercises.

The programme also focused on strengthening user-level security through cyber awareness training and unlocking greater value from existing technologies by optimising and integrating tools already in place.

As a result, the organisation has achieved significant improvements in cyber maturity, including enhanced detection and response readiness, clearer executive visibility of cyber risk through structured reporting, and consistent progress toward Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

Crucially, these improvements have been delivered with zero disruption to critical systems during race days, protecting both customer experience and operational continuity.

Cybersecurity has now become a regular topic of discussion at board level, reflecting a broader cultural shift in how digital risk and organisational resilience are understood.

From Reactive to Proactive Cybersecurity

This long-term collaboration demonstrates how an embedded, partnership-led approach to cybersecurity can deliver sustainable resilience within complex, high-profile and seasonal operating environments.

By acting as a strategic partner rather than a traditional supplier, ANSecurity has helped the organisation transition from a reactive security model to a proactive, future-ready cyber strategy that supports compliance, growth and long-term customer trust.
