When JURA CEMENT needed to secure their company premises, they turned to barox with great results.

“Securing company premises is more important today than ever before. Whether production facilities, logistics centres or industrial sites – companies are faced with the challenge of protecting their premises against unauthorised access, theft or sabotage. One of the most effective measures for securing these sensitive areas is the use of modern video surveillance systems.

Redesigning the video surveillance network

“For video surveillance to work effectively, a robust network infrastructure is crucial. Innovative network switches play a key role here. They guarantee the necessary bandwidth, minimise failure risks and protect the video network from unwanted attacks with integrated cyber security functions.

“By working with experienced partners and utilising modern technologies, companies can guarantee the highest level of protection and monitoring – around the clock.

Video surveillance network rethought

“Jura-Cement-Fabriken AG in Wildegg, with a production capacity of over one million tonnes of cement, is the second-largest cement manufacturer in Switzerland and part of the globally active building materials group CRH, based in Ireland. Thanks to its innovative, sustainable production processes, the Wildegg plant is the most modern and exemplary cement plant in Switzerland.

“However, at the beginning of this year, the company was faced with a major challenge: Recurring bandwidth problems were affecting the stability of the network – a critical point, especially for process monitoring and site monitoring of the extensive factory premises.

“To solve this problem, JURA CEMENT turned to barox Kommunikation AG.  After a comprehensive analysis of the existing network infrastructure, it quickly became clear that the high-performance network switches from barox were the perfect solution.

“The implementation of 44 barox switches took place at the beginning of the year – with resounding success.  Since then, bandwidth problems have been a thing of the past and the network is stable and reliable. This improvement is particularly important for the 24 / 7 monitoring of the premises, as it guarantees the security and efficiency of the processes.

“Thanks to the switches from barox, we were not only able to significantly increase our network performance, but also regain confidence in our monitoring systems. We particularly appreciate the fact that barox, like us, is based in the canton of Aargau – the regional proximity to the manufacturer gives us additional confidence,” says Martin Maier, Group Leader Electric at JURA CEMENT.”
