Gibson, Unit Chief, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) Behavioral Analysis Unit, Behavioral Threat Assessment Center, USA, and Rick J. Kaufman, APR, Executive Director, Community Relations & Emergency Management, Bloomington Public Schools, USA.

Taking place from June 24-26, 2025 at The Mall of America, Minneapolis, the security conference‘s programme will include include a special session entitled Automated Linguistic Threat Profiling Powered by AI: challenges, risks and opportunities organised and facilitated by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism’s (UNOCT) International Hub on Behavioural Insights to Counter Terrorism (based out of Doha, Qatar).

This UNOCT-sponsored panel discussion will explore the rôle of automated linguistic profiling in identifying security threats. Panellists will discuss the benefits and limitations of AI-driven threat detection, the ethical challenges it presents, and consider how manual analysis can complement automated solutions in counter-terrorism and law enforcement efforts.
