BRINC welcomes new Vice President of Advanced Public Safety Project

BRINC is excited to welcome Captain Don Redmond to the team as the Vice President of Advanced Public Safety Projects.

Don retired from the Chula Vista Police Department in 2022 after over 25 years in law enforcement. Don has worked various assignments including SWAT, Patrol Watch Commander, Professional Standards Lieutenant, Jail Commander, Dispatch Manager, and UAS Manager until his promotion to captain.

As a Police Captain, Don oversaw Support Operations consisting of the 9-1-1 Police Communications Center, Technology, the City Jail, the Professional Standards Unit, and UAS Operations. He managed the Chula Vista Police Department’s UAS Program including the Drone as First Responder (DFR) for three years and is active in the UAS community.

Don holds a Master of Arts Degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from San Diego State University. He is a graduate of California P.O.S.T. Command College (Class 64) and the FBI National Academy (Class 263). He is a published author in Police1 Magazine, FBINAA Magazine and was a contributing writer for the California P.O.S.T. De-Escalation Strategies and Techniques publication.

In this role, Don will be focused on building future capabilities to help the public safety community save lives and effectively integrate UAS into communities around the world.
