BSIA Director of Security & Export John MacAskill recently attended The Security Event Asia, held between 11-13 November.

Whilst there, MacAskill connected with UK companies, met international counterparts and supported UK exhibitors as they showcased the depth and innovation of the UK’s security and resilience sector.

Key themes emerging were:

• With nearly 40 companies from the UK exhibiting, there is strong interest in UK expertise on public protection and counter-terrorism.
• Recognition of the UK’s whole-system approach to security challenges
• There is a strong appetite for collaboration on specific capabilities in the region, including both personal and public protection technologies.

Shaun Hipgrave’s keynote reinforced a central message: effective security depends on partnerships that bridge policy, operations, industry and innovation.
