CLD Physical Security Systems (CLD) has successfully transformed a large, vacant property in South-East London into a secure site, overcoming significant security challenges. The estate, known for previous incidents of unauthorised access, required a bespoke approach to safeguard its grounds.
Project overview
As a vulnerable, unused property, it was at high risk of squatting, trespassing and vandalism. The customer enlisted the expertise of CLD to develop a robust perimeter solution that would secure the property and prevent unauthorised access.
CLD recommended on-ground and temporary products from its FenceSafe range, specifically chosen for their ability to secure assets such as vacant properties quickly and efficiently, while offering a sustainable solution. CLD worked closely with approved supplier Ward, who were responsible for a phased installation, securing the site over several months.
The challenge
The property presented several challenges due to its size, history and project requirements. The site was large, which meant that it was particularly vulnerable to unauthorised access at multiple entry points.
The estate had already experienced incidents of trespassing and unauthorised activity, making it a high priority site for implementing a security solution that could effectively prevent future illegal occupation or damage.
Additionally, the project had to meet environmental and sustainability standards. The security solution needed to align with the customer’s commitment to eco-friendly practices while still providing the necessary security.
The solution
CLD’s FenceSafe Eclipse and FenceSafe Lockmaster systems were deployed in a multi-phase approach to secure the vacant property.
The FenceSafe Eclipse on-ground system, chosen for its durability, quick installation and adaptability to the estate’s varied terrain, provided essential perimeter protection throughout the project, deterring unauthorised access.
Alongside this, the FenceSafe Lockmaster temporary swing gate reinforced security and key access points, offering enhanced protection to prevent trespassers from entering the estate.
Both of these solutions allowed for easy installation and ensured the products could be fully reused or recycled, minimising environmental impact. By securing the vacant property, CLD helped prevent potential damage and legal complications often associated with squatting and other unauthorised activities.
