Data Centre Networking Dubai – event diary in pictures

Data Centre Networking

A beachside nightclub in Dubai was the setting for an important recent Data Centre Networking event, sponsored by leading critical digital infrastructure provider, Vertiv, access control specialist, Meesons, and data centre specialists, Datalec Precision Installations, and organised by Vertiv Strategic Segment Director – Colocation & Hyperscale, METCA, Ian Paul and Astha Batra, Field Marketing at Vertiv.

The event, which took place in the lavish Bla Bla club in Dubai, brought together professionals from across the data centre community, including End Users, Architects, Consultants, Main Contractors, Sub Contractors, Suppliers and OEMs, giving them a chance to network in a friendly environment. These data centre networking events started in Dubai in 2016 and are now taking place across Middle East, Arica and parts of Europe.

There were raffle prizes, a free bar and food on offer for guests, and, as Paul notes, each of these gatherings are attracting increasing numbers, with 180 security professionals in attendance. “For us it was a big success,” he says. “We are thrilled to know that the community is happy to come join us for these events.”

Paul added: “We have seen the community grow over the years and it is amazing to see that we have everyone from the industry joining in. We keep the format completely casual, with no agenda. The community finds value in the conversation they are able to have during this gathering and they keep coming back.”

David Godden-Duske, General Manager at Meeseons Gulf, continued: “Meesons have been supplying products in the Middle East for several years now via our UK office.  We have rapidly grown with our clients in the Gulf region, so Meesons decided to open their first Middle East office in Dubai last year. As we specialise in physical security in six key areas, including Fitness & Leisure, Higher Education, Core Commercial, Banking and Data Centres, we have attended some fantastic industry events, with Data Centre Networking especially standing out. With this, it became a natural choice for Meesons Gulf to sponsor one of their brilliant events so that I could meet with their array of excellent guests, making for a fantastic evening.”

Sean Christie, Projects Director – UAE, Datalec Precision Installations, added: “DCN Dubai is a popular focal point for the Dubai Data Centre community. As such, we were delighted with the opportunity to sponsor this event and look forward to supporting future events.”
