His Excellency Aleksandar Janev, Director of the Public Security Office in the Republic of North Macedonia, recently visited the Dubai Police’s General HQ.
There, he received a warm welcome from His Excellency Major General Harib Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, and His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Zaal bin Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation in security matters, explore topics of mutual interest and review the advanced technologies utilised by Dubai Police to enhance security and safety.
Maj. Gen. Harib Al Shamsi warmly welcomed the delegation, emphasizing Dubai Police’s dedication to enhancing communication, sharing knowledge and expertise, and exchanging best practices with law enforcement agencies, all aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships across various sectors and areas of security expertise.
Dubai Police Command & Control Centre
The Director of the Bureau for Public Security in North Macedonia and his accompanying delegation toured the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations in Dubai Police, where they received a briefing on the operational mechanisms, latest services, and initiatives that enhance the emirate’s security and safety.
They were also introduced to the Centre’s equipment and recent additions, including a 3D map covering Dubai and a patrol dispatch system designed to ensure swift and efficient responses to reports and emergency calls.
eCrime Platform
The delegation then toured the eCrime Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation and learned about the Platform, which allows members of the public, private, and public entities to report issues and crimes, including suspicious emails, social media-related issues, hacking, online bullying, and cyber-extortion.
Crime Prevention
The Macedonian Director of the Public Security Office, along with his accompanying delegation, also toured the Crime Prevention Department to learn about the new smart money transport bag designed to thwart theft attempts, featuring ink to damage money if the bag is tampered with, an alarm, a tracking device, and a smoke device to deter thieves. The bag is made from solid material to prevent break-ins.
Policeman in Your Neighborhood
The delegation also reviewed the “Policeman in Your Neighborhood” program, a community policing initiative that encourages employees to volunteer as a bridge between residents and the Dubai Police. This initiative aims to identify and address community concerns while bolstering various programs launched by Dubai Police through different general departments.
AI
The Macedonian delegation received insights into the General Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including the applications and technologies employed by Dubai Police. They also explored key performance indicators, digital experiences, and advancements in artificial intelligence.
SPS
The delegation also visited the Smart Police Station (SPS) at the main HQ, where they received a briefing on the various services offered to customers in seven languages, available around the clock.
These include 27 key services, such as reporting crimes and traffic incidents, as well as an additional 33 community-based services, ranging from obtaining good-conduct certificates to providing social support for victims of domestic violence.
Praise
At the end of the visit, the Macedonian delegation was presented with a commemorative shield. They expressed their genuine admiration for the advanced level of policing and security practices at the Dubai Police, praising the remarkable excellence and professionalism they witnessed.
Furthermore, the delegation praised the efficiency of the Dubai Police teams and their dedication to keeping up with the latest technologies, all aimed at serving the community and ensuring the safety and security of citizens, residents, and visitors.
