The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Police to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between the two entities. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the “GITEX Global 2024”, which began Monday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, on behalf of Dubai Police, and Christer Viktorsson, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, on behalf of FANR, in the presence of His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, Mr. Mohammed Sultan Al Zaabi, Deputy Director General for Administrative Affairs at FANR, and a number of senior officers and executives.
Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration and communication between Dubai Police and FANR, building strategic partnerships that support national goals and visions across various sectors. He also highlighted the significance of scientific and knowledge exchange between the two parties, the training and qualification of national cadres, and capacity building in areas of mutual interest.
Christer Viktorsson, Director-General of FANR, stated: “The agreement signed today with Dubai Police on the margins of the GITEX conference reflects FANR’s commitment to strengthening and extending its cooperation with national partners. FANR plays a key role in protecting the community, workers, and the environment from radiation.”
