Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad visits Dubai Police

Colonel Staff Pilot Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of Special Patrols and Chairman of the Security Patrol Development Committee at Abu Dhabi Police, recently visited the General Headquarters of Dubai Police.

The visit aimed to enhance ways of coordination and cooperation on mutual interests, discuss cadre development and exchange expertise.

He was warmly welcomed by H.E Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Commandant Assistant for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, along with Brigadier Musabah Al Ghafli, Director of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, and several other directors and senior officers at the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf.

Colonel Staff Pilot Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan reviewed the organisational structure of the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, examining its various divisions, responsibilities and duties.

He also get acquainted with the training programs for personnel in specialised areas, including VIP security, emergency response, riot control, explosives security, protection and insurance systems, K9 security inspections, and best practices in the field.

Furthermore, he was briefed on the Events Security Committee in Dubai and its accomplishments, achieved through collaboration among over 55 governmental, semi-governmental, and private entities.

This collective effort ensures the effective implementation of the security, organizational, and service action plan, maintaining Dubai’s esteemed reputation as a premier host of significant global events and exhibitions.

Afterward, Colonel Staff Pilot Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan visited the exhibition at the Positive Spirit Hall in the Dubai Police Officers Club. During the tour, he examined the advanced equipment and tools employed by the General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency across various specialties, including gear for shooting and sniping, VIP escort operations, and tactical raids. 

He also learned about the K9 security role in maintaining high security standards within the community, focusing on crime prevention and control, supporting judicial processes for specific offences, and coordinating with other security agencies to ensure the safety of various locations, venues, and events.
