Dubai Police

His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, inspected the force’s stand at the COP28 conference in the Green Zone at Expo City.

During his tour, Al Marri reviewed the Dubai Police’s latest environment-friendly projects and initiatives, emphasising its commitment to adopting projects and initiatives that yield significant results in protecting our planet from the risks of climate change across various fields.

Al Marri noted that Dubai Police’s participation with a stand showcasing 12 environmental projects underscores their approach to contributing to environmental protection. He commended the efforts of the teams and their dedication to showcasing Dubai Police’s achievements at one of the world’s most influential conferences on urban environment and climate change.

Al Marri also affirmed that such events enhance the international reputation and leading position of Dubai and the UAE, particularly in showcasing the state’s achievements and projects in combating climate change and protecting the environment.

Haddad: Eco-Friendly Smart Police Boat

Al Marri also inspected the eco-friendly smart police boat Haddad, the first of its kind in the region and a global pioneer in various aspects. This project involves inventing an intelligent security boat powered by clean energy by talented young Emiratis.

The boat boasts several notable features, including self-control, self-monitoring, and remote control capabilities. It also contributes to environmental preservation by replacing fuel-dependent security boats, reducing approximately 5,170 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Mirai

Furthermore, Al Marri explored the Mirai hydrogen police patrol car, the first vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel cells. It requires 5 kilograms of hydrogen for about 400 kilometres, with a maximum range of approximately 450 kilometres.

Powered by an electric motor with 114 kilowatts (153 horsepower), Mirai’s maximum torque is 335 Newton-meters. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds, with a top speed of 178 km/h.

The vehicle stores hydrogen in two tanks, each holding 2.5 kilograms under 700 bars. The fuel cell capacity is about 37 litres, with an efficiency of 3.1 kilowatts per litre of fuel cell volume.

Hummer EV

Al Marri also reviewed the GMC HUMMER EV electric vehicle dressed in the force’s green livery, notable for its torque range produced by the three electric motors, totalling 15,592 Newton meters.

This ensures the car can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in about three seconds. It is equipped with two battery packs with a capacity of 210 kilowatt-hours, offering a range of up to 520 km.
