Genetec announces alignment with ACSC’s Essential Eight cybersecurity framework

Genetec

Genetec has announced it has been assessed to align with the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) Essential Eight threat mitigation requirements, as verified by CyberCX.

Developed in partnership with the Australian Government, the ACSC’s Essential Eight framework outlines a comprehensive set of cybersecurity controls designed to mitigate major cyber threats and address vulnerabilities across IT systems.

By adopting the Essential Eight framework, organisations strengthen their security posture, enabling them to better defend against and minimise the impact of cyberattacks.

“Today, every organisation’s risk and compliance strategy must integrate advanced cybersecurity measures where both IT departments and the C-suite are confident in their providers’ physical security posture,” said George Moawad, Country Manager for Oceania, Genetec Inc. “The technology that underpins this stance is paramount and must match and/or exceed policy mandates.

“Essential Eight alignment means that our customers can now be even more confident in the cybersecurity posture of Genetec. However, just as the Essential Eight continues to evolve, so must preventative measures.

“By implementing controls such as those detailed in the Essential Eight, enterprises and government organisations can reduce the likelihood of falling victim to an attack.”
