Genetec Inc (“Genetec”), the global leader in enterprise physical security software, today announced its involvement with Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools initiative. The company has donated video security systems to schools in the UK and France, reinforcing its commitment to community engagement and protecting the everyday.
STEP Up for Schools is a social responsibility scheme created to help educational establishments to improve safety, strengthen emergency readiness, and build long-term protection for students and staff. Already well-established in North America, this year marks the programme’s first expansion into Europe, significantly expanding its impact and reach.
As part of the initiative, Genetec has donated two StreamVault™ appliances and the associated software licenses to schools based in Kent, England and Marne, France. These have been installed and commissioned by Convergint during its annual Social Responsibility Day on June 5, 2026, a global day of service dedicated to giving back to local communities.
StreamVault appliances are purpose-built to simplify security deployment and maintenance, making them well suited for school environments. Delivered pre-configured, pre-tested, and cybersecurity hardened, they help protect sensitive data and reduce risk right out-of-the-box. This gives organisations a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective foundation for modern video security, reducing the burden on limited IT resources.
