Genetec has announced the opening of a new office and R&D centre in the Viertel Zwei urban development in Vienna, Austria.

The fast-growing Vienna-based team represents 20 nationalities and brings a unique mix of engineering talent and different cultures. As the largest Genetec R&D centre in Central Europe, the Austrian team will spearhead the development of solutions tailored for the global market aimed at enhancing security and operational efficiency while prioritising privacy protection.

“The opening of our new Vienna office represents a significant step in our long-term strategy to continue growing our presence in Central Europe,” said Cyrille Becker, Managing Director of Genetec EMEA. “Over the past few years, the growth of Genetec in this region has been significant.

“This fuelled our decision to more than double our office space and create a state-of-the-art R&D center that encourages creativity and innovation, while at the same time underscoring our commitment to serving our channel partners, end users, and prospects in the region.”

With a vibrant economy, renowned universities and a diverse international community, Vienna is rapidly becoming one of Europe’s most dynamic tech hubs and most desirable places to live. It offers Genetec an ideal location to tap into the rich pool of tech expertise and innovation flourishing within the city and across Central Europe.

The new site is ideally located to support the company’s expanding footprint in Central Europe and serve as a hub for the DACH and ECE regions. The new Vienna office will also include customer support, sales, and sales support functions for the region.
