HKC has announced the appointment of James Collins as Technical Support UK, a role that will strengthen the company’s installer network and help drive its expansion across the UK.

In his new role, James will support installers through HKC’s dedicated phone lines and ticketing system, handling both quick troubleshooting queries and more technical cases. This work will play a part in ensuring that installers receive timely and dependable assistance.

James brings a background of customer-facing experience as well as technical and hands-on hardware knowledge. Through university, he was exposed to audio systems and electronics, which allowed him to learn the technical aspects of physical hardware and problem-solving skills.

He has previously worked as a Customer Support Analyst for bespoke enterprise software systems where he managed first-line support calls, logging cases, troubleshooting day-to-day issues and collaborating with internal development teams. This experience gave him an understanding of supporting business applications and engaging effectively with end users.

James’ role later expanded into hardware procurement, where he engaged with suppliers to secure competitive deals and developed extensive product knowledge, setting him up for HKC’s installer support structure.

James said: “The move into the security industry felt like a natural progression for me as I’ve always enjoyed working with physical projects and systems. HKC’s hardware portfolio, along with the real-world impact of protecting people and properties made it especially appealing.

“I’m looking forward to supporting our installer partners, bringing a fresh technical perspective and learning anything I can about the security industry as we continue to grow our presence in the UK market.”
