HKC has appointed Gerard Riney as Head of Research & Development, further strengthening the leadership team to help drive new product innovation.

With over 10 years in security technology, Gerard brings extensive knowledge in hardware design, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure and connected security products.

During his career, he has successfully brought multiple alarm system components to market and delivered seamless integrations with access control and mobile applications, which will prove vital to the development of new HKC products moving forward.

As Head of R&D, Gerard will oversee the full lifecycle of product development, from the initial concept to delivery and ongoing innovation. He will lead HKC’s engineering teams throughout the process, ensuring that both new and existing products continue to meet the evolving needs of HKC’s installers and customers, while maintaining the high quality and standards HKC is known for.

I’m looking forward to building on our reputation for innovation and reliability, helping shape the next generation of security solutions and supporting HKC’s continued success.

“My aim within this role is to make R&D a driver of sustainable growth and to create a culture of creativity, collaboration and technical excellence. We have a fantastic opportunity to not only strengthen our position in Ireland but also to explore new markets with integrations made possible by ASSA ABLOY.”
