Idis has won the best security equipment manufacturer award at the 2021 Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPA). In addition to this accolade, Tracey Edwards of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust has been named as best in-house security manager following a series of video upgrade projects using Idis technology.
The double triumph follows a highly competitive selection round, with the finalists and winners chosen by an independent judging panel comprising leading figures from across the security industry. Congratulating the winners in this year’s online finals, organiser Professor Martin Gill said the OSPAs were becoming the ultimate accolade for the industry.
Judges noted that Idis continues to innovate, developing advanced deep learning analytics, powerful mobile tools and practical solutions to help customers face emerging challenges, including operating during pandemic conditions, and preparing for the future beyond.
Tracey Edwards at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust was named as outstanding in-house security manager of the year. Her work, and her use of Idis video technology, has resulted not just in reduced risks to patients with mental healthcare needs, and to the dedicated NHS staff who look after them, but in improved care outcomes, and better lives. Edwards has drawn up a clear strategy and implemented the best measures to deliver it – including an ambitious programme of video infrastructure upgrades across the Trust’s facilities. Edwards is also a passionate advocate for improved specialist training for security professionals working in NHS mental healthcare.
“Her courage and experience to drive a contrary view and make changes to people’s life outcomes was something the judges applauded,” said the award organisers.
“It’s fantastic that our hard work developing and delivering end-to-end video solutions has been recognised with this highly sought after OSPA award, and that one of our most forward-looking customers, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust’s security manager Tracey Edwards has triumphed too,” added James Min, Managing Director, Idis Europe. “The OSPAs independent judging panel comprises some of the industry’s most respected experts, so this accolade means a great deal to everyone in the Idis family and to our integration partners.”
