Taking stand S2 C22 at Intersec 2025, ASSA ABLOY has plenty on offer to show visitors this year, including the Aperio KL100 Wireless Cabinet Lock and ABLOY PULSE. In this exclusive interview, Murtaza Husaini, Business Development Director & Head of Commercial Security Solutions at ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Middle East
What can visitors to your Intersec stand expect to see?
MH: “They will get a flavour of the building’s digital future, which applies as much to commercial as to residential premises. By visiting the ASSA ABLOY stand, visitors will be introduced to a range of products and solutions built to help their organisation make the transition from the mechanical to the digital world – and benefit in terms of convenience, security, sustainability and reliability of their access management. Our suite of Digital Access Solutions has been built on decades of experience in the security sector. We can help organizations to get ready for what’s ahead and digitalize with confidence.”
Can we expect any announcements from you at the show?
MH: “We have a number of new products and solutions which customers can see at the stand or stop to talk to us about. Firstly, the Aperio KL100 Wireless Cabinet Lock is the easiest way to bring lockers, cabinets, cupboards, drawers and more under the control of your digital access system. It integrates seamlessly with almost any third-party system, enhancing security for site managers and convenience for users.
“It has already been adopted in locations as diverse as hospitals and airports. We will also launch ASSA ABLOY Access with ABLOY PULSE, an access management solution built around smart key-operated digital locks powered by innovative energy-harvesting technology. We will be showcasing our LifeSafety Power intelligent power solutions as well as DoorBird smart intercom systems, which are especially well suited to the new generation of multi-residential housing developments appearing across our region.”
What do you feel you are offering that sets you aside from your competitors?
MH: “The completeness of what we are able to offer. ASSA ABLOY is a genuine end-to-end solution provider. We don’t just supply hardware or software, locks or strikes, or fire doors, or businesses or residences. We can meet the security and access needs of businesses small and large, in almost any sector; of homes, schools, hospitals, data centres and much more. We are driving access innovations that provide security, convenience and sustainability benefits for every type of customer.”
What do you think will be the main drivers for business next year?
“Everywhere we will feel the impact of global trends such as deeper integration of building systems and the breaking down of the cyber/physical siloes that still exist within security in many large organisations. Within this region more specifically, a focus in both the UAE and KSA on smart cities will continue to impact demand for our Smart Access Solutions for commercial and residential projects.”
What will be the primary challenges, and what is your strategy to overcome potential hurdles?
“At ASSA ABLOY, we have a tremendous opportunity to highlight the extensive range and innovative scope of the door, access, and security solutions we offer. Now, with the latest innovations in Digital Access, more than ever we want to show the advantages of digitalizing access with ASSA ABLOY. Our suite of Digital Access Solutions offers compatible, connected solutions for almost any imaginable use-case. We can be, in effect, a one-stop-shop for the latest products, solutions and knowledge in the fields of doors and access.”
Are there any special considerations or additional support that you offer your clients across the Middle East?
“We aim to offer our customers a genuine security partnership, not just a transaction. For example, we provide training through a certification program via our DAS academy. At specification stage, we can support customers with BIM, knowledge of local and regional standards, and Openings Studio, our customizable specification software tool. After we have supplied our solutions, continuing on-site and after-sales support is always available. We are the experts in access and always welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge and expertise.”
