Axis Communications will be taking stand S1 F22 at Intersec this year, where the brand will showcase a range of its security solutions, and make some exciting announcements regarding its latest innovations and strategic collaborations. In this exclusive interview, Rudie Opperman, Engineering and Training Manager EMEA at Axis Communications, explains all.
What can visitors to your Intersec stand expect to see?
RO: “Visitors to our Intersec stand can look forward to a comprehensive showcase of Axis Communications’ latest innovations in network solutions. These include advancements in video surveillance, access control, intercoms, and analytics. Our focus this year is on demonstrating how our solutions create smarter, safer, and more sustainable environments. Additionally, we’ll be hosting live demonstrations to highlight the seamless integration of our technologies with AI and IoT capabilities.”
Can we expect any announcements from you at the show?
RO: “Yes, we have some exciting announcements lined up at Intersec. We will be unveiling new products that redefines efficiency and performance in the security industry. Alongside this, we will introduce strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing our ecosystem and offering even more value to our partners and clients in the region.”
What do you feel you are offering that sets you aside from your competitors?
RO: “Our ability to innovate while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability sets us apart. Axis Communications is a pioneer in network video solutions, and we’re committed to offering not only cutting-edge technology but also reliable and scalable systems tailored to our customers’ needs. Furthermore, our emphasis on open-platform solutions allows seamless integration with third-party systems, which is highly valued by our clients. Lastly, our deep focus on cybersecurity ensures that our products remain secure in an increasingly complex digital landscape.”
What do you think will be the main drivers for business next year?
RO: “The demand for smart cities, critical infrastructure protection, and enhanced situational awareness in commercial and public spaces will be key drivers. Additionally, the growing adoption of AI-powered analytics and edge computing in video surveillance is expected to shape the industry’s trajectory. Governments across the Middle East are making significant investments in technology as part of their strategic visions, such as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which we see as a tremendous opportunity for growth.”
What will be the primary challenges, and what is your strategy to overcome potential hurdles?
RO: “Supply chain disruptions and the fast-evolving cybersecurity threat landscape remain two primary challenges. To address these, we’ve strengthened our supply chain operations by diversifying suppliers and increasing inventory resilience. On cybersecurity, we continue to prioritise secure development practices and offer our customers resources and training to keep their systems safe. Additionally, staying ahead of regulatory requirements in a fast-paced industry is crucial, and we’ve established dedicated teams to ensure compliance and provide proactive support to our clients.”
Are there and special considerations or additional support that you offer your clients across the Middle East?
RO: “Yes, we understand the unique needs of our clients in the Middle East, particularly the emphasis on scalability, energy efficiency, and cultural considerations. To address these, we offer localised support, including training programs and a dedicated regional support team. Moreover, we provide customised solutions tailored to sectors like oil and gas, transportation and critical infrastructure, which are vital in the region. Our long-standing partnerships with local distributors and integrators ensure that our clients receive the highest level of service and support.”
