The Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM) knows that training and exercising are undoubtedly two of the most critical components in the development of an effective enterprise-wide risk management and crisis response capability. However, it is also an area that is characterised by misunderstanding, weak practices and general lack of awareness of how effective training and exercising programmes are developed.
So, the institute is offering free-to-attend ‘Master Class in Table-Top Exercising’, taking place on August 7, at 10am to 11.30am BST and 4pm to 5.30pm BST, designed to give security professionals the structures and frameworks to develop and deliver table-top exercises from the simplest to the most complex. It builds upon work done by ISRM personnel around the world, and specifically by Executive Director Dr David Rubens in his participation in developing and delivering training and exercising programmes in multiple countries, including being part of the planning and delivery team on multi-agency and multi-national exercises for both government agencies and private corporations.
Case studies include London 2012 Olympics, 2016 Exercise Unified Response (the largest emergency response exercise held in Europe), the London Resilience Gold Command Crisis Management programme, and multiple other events that together will give you a body of knowledge that will support your own training and exercising activities, whatever location, sector or risk environment you are operating in.
All registrants will receive a copy of the 35-page ‘Guide to Training and Exercising’ handbook written by Dr David Rubens.
