OPTEX REDSCAN Lite named finalist at the DCS Awards 2026

OPTEX

OPTEX has announced that REDSCAN Lite has been shortlisted as a finalist in the “Data Centre Safety & Security Innovation of the Year” category at the DCS Awards.

The DCS Awards are now in their 16th year and recognise innovation, performance, and achievement across the global data centre sector. The programme covers a wide range of categories across IT, facilities, and security, with finalists selected by industry experts and winners decided through a combination of judging and voting.

Winners will be announced on 14th May at the official awards ceremony in London.

The “Data Centre Safety & Security Innovation of the Year” category focuses on technologies that strengthen physical protection across modern data centre environments.

As sites scale and risks increase, detection plays a critical role inside the facility, where early alerts support faster response and reduce operational impact.

REDSCAN Lite provides precise indoor detection for high-risk areas and controlled environments such as server rooms. Using LiDAR time of flight technology, it provides total protection for racks, aisles, ventilation shafts and restricted areas. It delivers stable performance not affected by light or temperature variations and supports fast, accurate alerts with minimal impact on operations.

Being named a finalist reflects the growing role of LiDAR in data centre security. It highlights the demand for accurate, low false alarm detection that integrates into modern security platforms.
