Cloudview
Cloudview is a cloud platform that enhances existing video surveillance systems, providing additional analytics and bespoke business intelligence where required.
Our video data platform captures crisp HD visual data and securely stores it in the cloud. The platform is optimised to work over any network, from fibre to remote deployments in environments with little to no network infrastructure.
No special hardware or software is required. Authorised users can immediately access all their visual data through a single interface, via a web browser, from any location, at any time.
Furthermore, as a brand agnostic VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service) provider, Cloudview is compatible with most leading analogue and IP cameras and, in many instances, can utilise the existing on-site infrastructure. By doing so, users can extend the value of their current system by upgrading and future-proofing, often fragmented deployments, into a single, centrally managed platform and thereby eliminate the need for expensive and disruptive replacements.
Why Cloud?
There are 3 key benefits of Cloud computing that on-site deployments simply cannot match.
Availability
Cloud storage ensures that your data is always available to those with authorised access. If PC’s, servers or recorders are damaged, stolen or malfunction in any way, your data is still available and accessible because it is stored in the cloud. In most cases lost or damaged on-site hardware means your data is lost forever.
Scalability
Business needs change constantly. As your storage requirements change, cloud storage can be increased or decreased instantly. On-site hardware storage cannot be increased once it reaches its limit and would therefore require new additional hardware to meet your new requirements.
Security
Physical, on-site systems simply cannot compete with the level of security, cloud-based computing adopts as standard. In general, within Cloud computing, ‘security’ encompasses 3 main areas that ensure that a system is protected.
- System Security – Safeguarding the system from cyber-attacks by undertaking regular ‘penetration tests’ to identify and correct areas of vulnerability
- Privacy – By monitoring, restricting and auditing who does what with the data stored, organisations can work effectively to prevent private data be shared with unauthorised personnel or 3rd parties
- Permission – Using dual factor authentication (2fa) and role-based permission, access to data is granted based upon what is authorised for each individual user within their role and limiting that access to those requirements only
Why Cloudview?
Simple | As Standard
Cloudview’s video surveillance platform allows you to capture, store and manage visual data using the Cloud. In many instances, Cloudview can utilise your existing infrastructure and connect your analogue and/or IP cameras to the cloud, future-proofing your system and reducing the need for expensive capital investment. With flexible storage options and access to your footage at any time, from anywhere, Cloudview places the control of your video security solutions at your fingertips.
Smart | As Standard
Cloudview’s video surveillance platform is designed to be smart. Compatible analogue and IP cameras can be programmed to detect and record specific actionable events – determined by your needs – and upload them to the cloud. Once an event has been captured and stored, automated notifications are sent to authorised personnel so that they can view and assess, it from wherever they are, before taking appropriate action. New features are automatically made available, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming on-site equipment upgrades.
Secure | As Standard
Cloudview is a surveillance system company built from the ground up: British-made technology with AES 256-bit data security at its heart, Cloudview’s remote cloud video surveillance system makes data compliance easy. Customers choose user permissions, camera functionality and data retention periods to suit their corporate governance policies, safe in the knowledge their GDPR obligations are met. Furthermore, organisations can be assured the Cloudview platform provides time-stamped, legally admissible footage when required.
Solving Our Customer’s Challenges
Cloudview understands that each organisation has its unique pain points. By taking the time to truly listen to our customers, Cloudview has built a visual data platform that uniquely addresses these challenges to allow organisations to focus on their core business objectives.
Below are some of the most common challenges our customers face and how the Cloudview platform provides a direct solution:
Challenge | Cloudview Solution |
Limited budget for new hardware installation | Cloudview is compatible with most IP & analogue cameras and can often reduce capital expenditure by utilising existing infrastructure |
It takes too long to find relevant incident footage especially when the date and/or time are unknown | Cloudview’s event-based recording captures only relevant activity, reducing storage costs and making specific incidents easier to find |
Having to physically travel to site(s) to retrieve recorded footage | Cloudview provides access to recorded footage from anywhere, at any time, meaning authorised users can review, download, and share footage remotely |
Unknown health status of the security system. Only become aware of cameras being down or offline after an event has occurred | Authorised users can log in remotely to check the live status of the site and camera health status at any time. Cloudview also offers an additional system health monitoring service, at no extra cost, to notify users when a camera is offline and not recording |
Lack of resources to monitor one or multiple sites 24/7 | Cloudview’s platform provides automated event alerts to notify relevant personnel that an event has been recorded and stored in the cloud
Footage from all sites can be combined and accessed via one single user interface |
Theft or damage to the recording device means evidence has been lost or destroyed and perpetrators go unpunished | Cloud storage means all footage is stored securely off-site so even after damage or theft of equipment, the recorded footage is still immediately available |
Ensuring recorded footage can be shared with relevant authorities and used for evidence purposes | All footage recorded and stored in the Cloudview platform is time-stamped, tamper-proof and legally admissible in a court of law |
Maintaining data privacy and GDPR compliance | All Cloudview footage is stored safely in AmazonWS datacentres in the UK, while 256-bit encryption always safeguards the integrity of the visual data. Role-based access and Dual Factor Authentication (2fa), enable organisations to protect recorded footage from unauthorised personnel gaining access |
