When a building site sought to prevent repeated thefts, they turned to Pyronix’s BatteryCam2 and SolarPanel2 and were overjoyed with the results
“Spectrum FSG Ltd is a well-established security installation company based in the South East of England. They specialise in tailored security solutions across both residential and commercial sectors, working closely with homeowners and businesses throughout the region to deliver practical, scalable systems backed by hands-on expertise.
“The site in question belonged to a regular customer of Spectrum FSG Ltd, a building contractor who’d already been the target of theft several times during the early stages of a project. Thieves were scaling the fences at night, stealing tools and cables, causing costly delays and frustration. After the third break-in, the contractor was rightly fed up and needed a quick fix.

“Since there was no power or permanent setup on site yet, the battery-powered cameras with solar-powered charging were the perfect, hassle-free fix. He added a 4G router to get them online and hooked everything up to the client’s phone using the HomeControl2.0 app. Within a couple of hours of the initial callout, everything was up and running.
“That very night, the thieves returned. The cameras spotted them right away, and an instant alert popped up on the client’s phone. He jumped onto the app, saw the intruders on live video feed and quickly triggered the BatteryCam2’s built-in siren. The sudden blast of sound instantly deterred the thieves and sent a clear message that the site was now actively protected.
“Since then, there haven’t been any more break-ins or attempted thefts at the site.
“The client was really happy with how it worked out; a quick, affordable solution that didn’t need mains power or complicated wiring and did exactly what was needed. The client’s now using the same cameras on other sites because they’re so easy to move and reinstall as projects change. What began as a temporary fix has become the go-to solution for securing sites during the early stages of construction.
