Sigur redefining site & visitor management

Slovenia-based access control manufacturer Sigur (stand S1-F32) develops its products from the roots up, an approach that allows it to distinguish its hardware, credential mechanisms and control software from those of conglomerate competitors. The company excels in terms of responsiveness to end-user demands and the aesthetic appeal of visible hardware which always blends in with the built environment.

“Unreflective of the crowd” was the phrase used to SoS as we asked about how the company distinguishes itself from what seemed like a whole aisle of similar manufacturers at Dubai World Trade Centre. Sigur also realizes that its smaller clients may well be new entrepreneurs setting up a business and its product suite has the flexibility to shape itself to evolving on-site needs.

Sigur was showing traditional card or fob-based terminals alongside biometric readers using facial scanning that exploits neural networks.

As is the norm now, the access control offering doubles as visitor management, and Sigur takes pride in its case studies at properties such as business centres with high visitor flows. A focus here is the automation of guest pass management without compromising security.

Sigur is able to ease both end-users and integrator partners past pain points when an individual customer throws up unusual demands in terms of visitor flow or layout. Software seeks to minimize the potential for human error when issuing passes. Sigur always recognizes the human element as staff and visitors seek access to a site, and the equipment can make audible, informative and friendly voice announcements about means of identification and site conditions.
