Speakers announced for Security and Policing 2024

Security and Policing

With the official Government global security event, Security and Policing 2024, upcoming (starting March 12), we give you the speaker programme for this year’s show, which has a focus on security, policing and resilience.

According to a press release from the Home Office, the extensive programme of keynotes and sessions will be led by senior UK Government officials, policing officials, fire industry seniors and industry speakers across three theatres – the Keynote Briefing theatre, Fusion Forum and the expanded Innovation Zone. The event is taking place at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, March 12-14, 2024.

Tuesday March 12 – Security

The opening day will feature three keynotes led by UK Government Ministers or senior officials and a panel of senior representatives from the Home Office. Tuesday will also host the ADS Security Innovation Award Grand Final in the Fusion Forum, as well as a range of Government and industry presentations themed around security.

The science and technology centred Innovation Zone features a packed schedule including a panel session and networking opportunity with representatives from:

  • National Security Technology and Innovation Exchange (NSTIx)
  • Home Office Science, Innovation and Technology
  • Home Office Homeland Security Group
  • Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE)
  • Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC)
  • National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF)
  • Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA)
Wednesday March 13 – Policing

The Keynote sessions on day two of the Security and Policing event include the launch of the UK Police Industry Charter by Chief Constable Gavin Stephens, Chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council. At midday there is a panel session where government Chief Scientific Advisors will provide their perspective on ‘Visions for a collaborative future’; and in the afternoon Phil Douglas, Director General, Border Force will present his keynote.

The Fusion Forum welcomes sessions by policing industry officials, a presentation from UKDSE, the Fusion Forum Live Industry Challenge and an insight by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

The Innovation Zone will look at Policing and Innovation, now and into the future, plus the future of forensic databasing services amongst much more.

Thursday March 14 – Resilience

The closing day of Security and Policing focuses on resilience. Lord Toby Harris, Chair, National Preparedness Commission will open the Fusion Forum presentations at 10.00am followed by sessions from the Emergency Planning College, the College of Policing and the National Fire Chiefs Council International Lead.

The Innovation Zone presentations include the rapid rise of Generative AI, Innovation to support the security of current and future nuclear technologies and opportunities for collaboration; as well as a panel session discussing the rise of deep fakes.

The final day will also host the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) Business Conference:

Security and Policing remains a closed event and all visitors are subject to Home Office approval and visitor criteria.
