Teledyne FLIR has doubled its standard warranty to two years for Neutrino SWaP and Neutrino IS series designed for commercial, industrial, and defence original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and system integrators. With a cryocooler mean time to failure (MTTF), Neutrino can provide a cooled mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) solution for imaging systems with size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP+C) constraints.
Cooled MWIR camera modules must be designed, tested, and manufactured to meet rigorous environment and reliability requirements. Recognising that reliability and operational lifetime are predominantly determined by the lifetime of the cryocooler, Teledyne FLIR developed, tested, and manufactures the ruggedised, long-life, FL-100 linear cryocooler for its SWaP-optimised Neutrino MWIR camera modules. Based on lifetime tests and Weibull analysis, the MTTF of the Teledyne FLIR FL-100 cryocooler has increased to approximately 27,000 hours, significantly reducing the cost of ownership for systems using Neutrino.
“Teledyne FLIR understands the criticality of mission readiness and the importance of long, low-maintenance infrared system operation,” said Dan Walker, Vice President, Product Management OEM, Teledyne FLIR. “A MTTF of 27,000 hours and a two-year warranty on Neutrino offer a low risk and high-performance MWIR imaging solution for integrators.”
The Neutrino MWIR camera portfolio can also provide shortened time-to-market and reduced project risk with off-the-shelf design and delivery of high operating temperature (HOT) focal plane array (FPA) technology in 640×512 or 1280×1024 resolution. Teledyne FLIR can deliver high volumes of Neutrino, reducing supply chain risk of typically the most critical component in a high-level imaging system.
