The Security Event 2024 interview – Genetec

Genetec

Genetec will have its new Security Center SaaS as its main focus at The Security Event on stand 5/H45. In this exclusive interview, Country Manager for UK & Ireland, Paul Dodds explains why The Security Event is such an important show, and encourages visitors to look out for Genetec‘s contributions on the show’s panel discussions.

Why is TSE an important show for you?

PD: “Because it’s very clearly a show that has been designed by the industry for the industry. It brings us face-to-face with a great mix of distributors, installers, integrators and end users. We were also very impressed by the speaker programme put together by Philip Ingram MBE, which we’ll be actively participating in.”

What can visitors expect from you at the show? Why should they visit your stand?

PD: “This year we’re putting a big focus on Security Center SaaS, our newly announced unified, enterprise-grade, security-as-a-service solution. Built with cybersecurity and privacy at its core, Security Center SaaS brings together access control, video management, intrusion monitoring, automation, forensic search, and many other advanced security capabilities in the cloud. It is offered in tiered subscription plans based on the number of device connections needed.

“We believe Security Center SaaS redefines the possibilities for cloud-based physical security by supporting the sustained growth and value of our channel partners. It’s a particularly good fit for enterprise customers who are finding they aren’t well served by other options on the market. Proprietary solutions hold customers hostage, while standalone VSaaS/ACaaS solutions offered by emerging players are too simple to address their complex needs.”

Can we expect any announcements from you at the show?

PD: “Don’t expect major announcements but I’d encourage visitors to check out the various sessions we’ll be participating in as part of the speaker programme. Look out for my colleague Kris Houle’s session on ‘Cloud Technology for UK Businesses’ (11am 1st May), Dan Meyrick contributing to ASIS’s panel discussion on ‘Understanding the true value of a security system’ (2pm 1st May) and Jon Hill talking on ‘Public Safety with unified solutions’ (1.30pm 2nd May).”

What are you most looking forward to at the show?

PD: “I’m really looking forward to the direct feedback from our consultants, channel partners and end users that helps us to share our product development in line with their most pressing, challenges, opportunities and priorities.

“We pride ourselves on the speed with which our users can benefit from our innovations. Our continuous software delivery model means there’s every chance that one chance conversation at the show could influence new features introduced in 2024.”
