Todd Research is demonstrating its new cabinet x-ray scanner at Intersec Dubai on stand S3 A42.
The Cambridgeshire-based company excels in keeping mailrooms safe from postal threats. Its products identify potential major dangers such as anthrax and ricin so safeguarding postal workers and the wider community.
The company’s technology allows mailroom workers and their supervisors to share images of suspect packages with first responders.
The new scanner offers TIP (Threat Image Protection) integration and what the company says is a 400% image resolution improvement on the preceding model. Powder detection (EPD) has also been improved and there is optimised connectivity for remote diagnostics. Todd Research has observed international radiation compliance.
However vigilant, well informed and well trained mailroom employees may be, Todd Research equipment supports staff by being an automated process. The product offering also delivers huge time savings.
The cabinet scanner is not solely aimed at mailrooms and is designed for use at locations such as law courts, embassies, and any venue where small bags must be scanned quickly and effectively. Threats from sharps, incendiary devices as well as toxic substances in powder form can all be mitigated with the equipment.
Implementing x-ray screening for incoming mail provides a more robust, efficient solution than reliance solely on human vigilance. X-ray scanners allow staff to examine package contents without opening them, using advanced enhancement tools to identify anything suspicious.
This technology offers a cost-effective way to improve mailroom security while ensuring timely and thorough monitoring. Additionally, remote networking capabilities enable operators to share images of suspect packages quickly with first responders for expert evaluation or to coordinate a building evacuation if necessary.
