The Institute of Strategic Risk Management, (ISRM) is hosting a special webinar today, at 3pm GMT (9am US CDT) examining President Trump’s first sixty days of his second administration, which “has been unprecedented on multiple levels”. Rick Figueroa, a prominent leader and spokesman in the MAGA world, will be in conversation with the ISRM’s Executive Director, Dr David Rubens.
His first day in office as 47th President of the United States set the tone, signing more than 200 executive orders including the strengthening of border controls, rescinding DEI (diversity, equality and inclusion) activities, establishing the ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ (DOGE), withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO) and beginning the withdrawal from the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change controls.
He has pushed though the confirmation of Cabinet office choices that lack experience in defence, intelligence and health, and has created a tariffs war with Canada, Mexico and China. He has given Elon Musk seemingly unlimited power to disrupt and restructure the US governance framework at every level from national to local, and all without any oversight personally or for the polices he has introduced.
Internationally, he has called for the depopulation of Gaza so that it can be developed as a tourist resort, has called for the US to take back the Panama Canal and claim Greenland away from Denmark, has defunded USAid programmes around the world, has accused President Zelensky of starting the war with Russian in February 2022, and has sided with Russia, China, Iran and North Korea in voting against a European-sponsored UN resolution that put responsibility for the invasion on Russia.
It is easy from a European or US non-MAGA perspective to consider these as actions that have no focus, strategy or even rationality.
And yet, President Trump was elected by what would be considered a landslide in US electoral terms and remains the single most powerful person on the planet.
If we are to engage with him, as we surely must, then we need to understand how the world looks from his perspective.
The ISRM will be hosting a Strategic Leadership webinar with Rick Figueroa, a prominent leader and spokesman in the MAGA world, as a national convention delegate, co-chair of the Republican Party of Texas’ New Leaders on the Rise Committee and a member of both President Trumps National Coalition of Hispanic Leaders and his Texans for Trump leadership team. Throughout the campaign, Rick often served as a speaking surrogate for President Trump on news agencies such as MSNBC, CNN and at live rallies.
A conversation between:
- Rick Figueroa – Member, President Trumps National Coalition of Hispanic Leaders, Texans for Trump Leadership Team
- David Rubens – Executive Director, ISRM
Please join us for what will be a wide-ranging discussion on the strategies and policies of President Trump, and the issues that are at the heart of global concerns at the political, economic and social levels.
