An impressive array of monitors greeted Security on Screen when we came to the AMAG Technology booth (Hall 5 D/90) at The Security Event.
These were monitors with an instructive purpose, as Chris Meiter (Vice President, Global Business Development Video Solutions) highlighted how AMAG offers a full security solution suite of access control, video management, identity management, visitor management and command & control offerings, and walked me through its new Symmetry CompleteView Video Management 7.5 system.
The ability to detect a weapon being carried, an individual with clothing of a certain colour, a car of a certain make had great impact. This was an impressive demo.
Also truly impressive was the fast indexing of the server-based analytics package – the ability to interrogate archived footage for an incident that must have been similar to many others. Chris and I looked at scenarios such as a dark car of a well-known brand over a broad time window and with only two characters of the license plate having been captured as the vehicle was picked up by multiple cameras.
Chris also stressed that while the cameras generating the feeds to be interrogated in this manner must be of a certain minimum standard, they do not need to be absolute premium latest models. (The AMAG Technology can work with nearly every camera model.) Analysis can be both real-time monitoring and retrospective forensic investigations.
Security on Screen was particularly impressed this year at The Security Event by how vendors are presenting products that are versatile, and can cross multiple disciplines. So, with technology usually associated with security, Chris explained how the company’s analytics can generate heatmaps that show where staff (or customers in retail) spend the majority of their time. This allows facility or store managers to rethink layouts and make optimum use of space.
Chris also stressed the vendor agnosticism of the AMAG Technology offerings. There are 5,000 direct driver integrations and no fewer than 29,000 integrations with ONVIF.
As this functionality was illustrated to us, Security on Screen was lucky enough to be watching one of the first demonstrations of Symmetry CompleteView Video Management 7.5 with Vaidio AI Video Analytics This is the latest software update to the company’s highly respected video management system (VMS) platform. The new release shows AMAG Technology further distinguishing itself from competitor operations as an intelligent security solution that is truly proactive.
