Made in Britain is organising and hosting a cyber security panel session at the UK’s number 1 commercial, enterprise and domestic security show The Security Event, being held on 25th-27th April 2023 at the Birmingham NEC.

The panel, which will take place at 11:30am on 26th April, will focus on innovations in the UK cyber security industry, which grew to £10 billion and added over 6,000 jobs in the year to February 2022, according to the latest data available from the British government.

The session will be moderated by Made in Britain CEO John Pearce, who will be joined by two cyber industry speakers selected from Made in Britain’s community of members in the security sector:

“With cyber security of growing strategic importance to the UK, it’s timely for us to bring together a panel to focus on the latest innovations featuring speakers from the homegrown cyber industry. Our panellists from Awen Collective and Halo Solutions represent different facets of this crucial industry – with Awen’s focus on risks related to the IoT (Internet of Things) and Halo’s experience providing cyber security at some of Britain’s largest public events in recent years,” said Made in Britain CEO John Pearce.

“We are thrilled to have Made in Britain involved in this year’s event. Championing the innovation, expertise and export potential of the British security industry is core to the ethos of our event,” said Tristan Norman, Group Director (Safety and Security Series) at Nineteen Group.

Panellist Daniel Lewis, who is executive chair at Awen Collective, commented: “The British cyber security sector is full of innovation, we have some of the best risk managem4ent and applied AI built here. Most importantly, the UK has the opportunity to be a leader in things like industrial cyber security, personal data protection, and identity and authorisation – cyber security made in Britain.”

Halo Solutions’ founder and CEO Lloyd Major added: “Proudly Made in Britain, the Halo System now helps protect venues, events and operations in over 16 different countries. We look forward to the Security Event, where we’ll be sharing the innovations we’ve developed and key lessons we’ve learned along that journey based on the experiences of our security partners worldwide.”
