Genetec, the globally renowned technology provider of unified security, public safety, operations, and business intelligence solutions will be present at this year’s Intersec trade show, on stand S1 F11. Visitors will get a chance to see its latest version of Security Center, and it will be unveiling its new Experience Centre. In this exclusive interview with Georges Tannous, Area Vice President Of Sales In The UK, Ireland, Middle East And Africa (pictured top), we hear all about the brand’s upcoming appearance.
What can visitors to your Intersec stand expect to see?
GT: “Visitors can expect to see a full portfolio of solutions that simplify operations and protect the everyday. Intersec marks the first opportunity to see the latest version of Security Center, our flagship unified security platform at a major global tradeshow. With this release we’re moving to a continuous software delivery model that ensures our users can access new features as soon as they become available, so we look forward to sharing more about what we’ll be introducing throughout 2024.
“We also look forward to unveiling our brand new Experience Centre to our end users and partners located at One Central, which is attached to the World Trade free zone where Intersec takes place. Intersec is an amazing opportunity to meet with our end users and partners, but it’s important they know we’re also here for them for all 12 months of the year.”
How are you finding the current market here in the Middle East?
GT: “It’s so invigorating to spend time in a part of the world with such clear 2030 Vision goals. That leads to some really positive conversations about how things could be in the future, how security technologies can evolve in line with the needs of an organisation, and how our software will help get them there.
“It’s a region with a real appetite for innovation, demonstrated by just how quickly new technology is being adopted and consumed. There is also an interest in cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure as a means of optimising the productivity, connectivity and cost of security and operations. Even where systems are currently housed on-premises there’s a real desire to understand how they can become “cloud-ready” for the longer term.”
What do you feel you are offering that sets you aside from your competitors?
GT: “For Genetec, I would say that our true differentiators are unified security and our long-standing commitment to ensuring the highest possible standards for the cybersecurity of our physical security systems. Cybersecurity is everybody’s responsibility and it’s much easier to maintain through a unified security platform than one built entirely on integrations.”
What are you doing to develop your existing footprint in the region?
GT: “Over the past 18 months we’ve doubled our headcount across sales, service and support, and opened our dedicated Genetec Experience Center in Dubai. It’s the perfect space for our channel, our partners and end users to come together and devise solutions to their most pressing business problems.
“Genetec is proud to be the platform of choice for all Middle East organisations who are seeking a provider who can match the pace of innovation required to deliver on their ambitious plans. We’re already involved in the biggest projects in the region and plan to continue our contribution in this region’s security infrastructure and beyond.”
