Genetec has announced that it has received the First-Level Security Certification (CSPN) from the French National Cybersecurity Agency, ANSSI.
This certification applies to the Genetec Security Center Synergis access control solution and the Synergis Cloud Link intelligent IoT gateway.
The 2025 CSPN introduces updated technical guidelines, including Note 7 v2, which enforces stricter requirements for communication security and resistance to logical attacks. It also mandates advanced hardware testing, such as protection against relay attacks on contactless components and the implementation of a proximity verification feature.
This certification covers the new secure I/O modules for Synergis, developed specifically for this architecture by STid, a French company specialising in secure identification technologies.
Every component of the access control system is built on encrypted protocols and advanced cybersecurity capabilities, offering reinforced protection for sensitive infrastructure.
These advancements position Genetec as a key player in high assurance access control systems, especially for essential and important entities as defined by the NIS2 directive, where resilience against cyberattacks is a strategic priority.
ANSSI certification offers multiple benefits to users
- Advanced cybersecurity: With a secure, transparent architecture and advanced end-to-end encryption, ANSSI-certified Genetec solutions effectively protect physical access points against hybrid attacks.
- Compliance with European regulations: Genetec certified solutions help organisations meet both French and European regulatory requirements, while preparing for future directives such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
- Anticipation of emerging threats: Achieving ANSSI certification reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to cybersecurity and alignment with the highest national standards. This recognition is part of a broader strategy to embed digital security at the core of every solution developed.
“Genetec is globally recognised for its cybersecure solutions, establishing our reputation as a trusted provider in the physical security sector. We aim to achieve certifications in every market where we operate,” said Cyrille Becker, Managing Director for Genetec EMEA. “This ANSSI certification in France further demonstrates our commitment to meeting the highest cybersecurity standards worldwide.”
Genetec also holds certifications including ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 27017 (cloud information security), FICAM/FIPS 201-2 (U.S. federal identity and authentication standard), FIPS 140-2 (U.S. federal information system security), and DHS Safety Act certification (U.S. Department of Homeland Security).
The company is also certified for UL 2900-2-3 Level 3 (healthcare cybersecurity), CAPSS (robust cyber mitigation measures) and has obtained SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 reports (IT services cybersecurity). Genetec solutions also comply with GDPR and NIS2 requirements.
